Uh, what?

From Craftzine: Fetus Cookie Cutter
‘No holiday baby shower would be complete w/o fetus cookies’ ?? I beg to differ. Yick. Oddly, I find myself less ooged out at the thought of eating fetus-shaped cookies at a viewing of Kubrick’s 2001, which is the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw these things. But at a baby shower? Pass, thanks.

Ok, so I’m not the star of my own Oakhurst milk commercial like some members of my family were, but I still made an appearance in one of the Maine news broadcasts over the weekend.
Red helmet + denim shirt = me. Also is me to the far right of the group shot. Check out who putt-putts past the camera with 8 seconds left!
Now I’m qualified to ride legally on the streets (well, once I take the stamped paperwork to the DMV and fork over some $ for the appropriate sticker for my driver’s license).
I highly recommend taking the 2-day, hands-on, safety class; I just can’t imagine going out on the road without that sorta training (hell, I still can’t quite grok the fact that after the 2 days *I* can go out on the roads… will be doing a fair bit of parking lot practice before heading to the roads with live traffic, I think). The school I used: A & J Motorcycle Safety School. Two thumbs up.

Preview of the latest from Joss Whedon (of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly/Serenity fame), a 3-part musical comedy entitled Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog, starring Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, Felicia Day, and Simon Helberg:
update: Act I is available online now.

Have upgraded this site to WordPress 2.3.3 in anticipation of the next WordPress release (Any Day Now), which looks like it’ll have some slick administrative UI enhancements. All-in-all, the 2.3 upgrade went more smoothly than I expected; followed the instructions (and clapped for joy after discovering my awesome hosting service, pair, has phpMyAdmin installed so I don’t have to do my own install/maintenance. I <3 them dearly.), and yay, all my old content is here and available. The biggest issue I've seen so far is trying quickly find a new theme that will work with this version (and that will hopefully work with the 2.5 version); the main site for themes doesn’t appear to have a filter for version compatibility, and I’m finding it a royal PITA to sift thru this simple list of compatible themes. Until I find a different one that suits me, some stuff here may appear broken.
One of these days I’ll also actually get back to posting proper content.

So, screw all the things I had queued up that I wanted to post before this; this is a 30-second post, those ain’t.
For the record, I’d be one of the librarians peeing myself. Well, maybe not peeing, but definitely giggling.
